Lawrence Frieman, M.D. graduated from George Washington University with a degree in Zoology in 1968 and he received his M.D. degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in 1972. He completed his Ophthalmology residency at Beth Israel Medical Center in NYC. Dr. Frieman has been in practice in Red Bank for over 30 years.  

Dr. Frieman is a comprehensive, Board-Certified ophthalmologist who specializes in cataract surgery, retinal disease, corneal disease, uveitis, and glaucoma. He also performs annual eye exams and contact lens fittings. Dr.Frieman is an attending physician on the staff of Riverview Medical Center, Bayshore Hospital, and Monmouth Medical Center, and he is a Clinical Associate Professor at the New Jersey Medical School. He is a Past President of The New Jersey Academy of Ophthalmology, and a Past President of The Monmouth County Medical Society. Currently, he serves on the Executive Committee of The NJ Academy of Ophthalmology. He is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (FAAO) and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS).

Dr. Frieman has been married to his wife, Gail, for over 40 years and is the father of Dayna, a teacher, and Brett, his medical partner. His outside interests include spending time with his grandchildren, road rallying, skiing, and travel.
